Travelling alone does not have to mean planning everything alone. A group tour gives you a set route and other travellers to share the days with, while you still have your own holiday.
Why solo travellers consider a group tour
- Transport between regions is already planned
- You share sightseeing and meals with other guests if you wish
- You do not have to organise each stop yourself
Rooms and single supplements
Rooms are often the biggest question. Ask whether you can have your own room, whether room sharing is available, and how much any single-room supplement costs. Get the answer in writing before you book.
Questions to ask before booking
- What is the minimum number of guests for the departure to run?
- Is the departure confirmed or still planned?
- What exactly is included, and which entrance fees are extra?
- What is the cancellation policy?
- Where does the tour start and finish?
What to pack and plan
Bring comfortable shoes and sun protection for sites such as Sigiriya, and clothing that covers your shoulders and knees for temple visits. Share your flight details early so your arrival can be planned.
