Two Rooms or a Family Room? Accommodation Planning for Wildlife Holidays

JK Travels Sri Lanka · Wildlife holiday journal · 16

Room allocation can change a wildlife holiday quotation substantially. Resolve beds, privacy and occupancy with the planner before treating two proposals as equivalent.

Your planning focus

State the beds and privacy you need. Review room allocation at every overnight stop. Confirm occupancy and meal-plan pricing.

Describe the sleeping arrangement you need

Provide the number of adults and children, including children’s ages, and explain the beds you need. A family room, connecting rooms and two separate rooms are different arrangements. Ask which option a property can actually confirm. Do not rely on a room-category name alone to establish bed types, room layout or whether an extra bed is suitable for your party.

Check each property separately

The same arrangement may not be available at every stop. Ask for a room-allocation table across the itinerary, especially if it combines lodges, hotels and tented stays. Note where the proposal changes categories or adds an extra room. This makes it easier to judge comfort and privacy without discovering an important difference only after the route has been accepted.

Confirm the price basis

Ask which travellers and room configurations the total covers and whether the meal plan applies equally to everyone. If availability changes before confirmation, request the revised room details and price. A clear allocation is practical for the whole holiday, including early departures when the group needs to be ready together. Keep the confirmed bed arrangements with the accommodation list.
