Overview
This revered Buddhist site, historically called Senkadagalapura, served as the final capital of the Sinhala kings, fostering the Dinahala culture for over 2,500 years until British rule began in 1815. It also houses the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a significant pilgrimage site.
