A responsible Wilpattu safari is shaped by small decisions in the jeep. The way visitors speak, move and react to an animal can affect the encounter. Patience and restraint help protect the setting you came to enjoy and give your group a better chance to observe natural behaviour without making it perform for you.

Follow park and driver instructions, remain in the jeep unless specifically permitted otherwise, do not feed wildlife and keep litter with you. Never pressure the driver to chase, crowd or block an animal for a closer view.
For the current service, price and enquiry options, see our private Wilpattu safari itinerary.
At the first sign of wildlife
Lower your voice and let the driver position the vehicle appropriately. Avoid sudden standing, leaning out or passing equipment unpredictably between passengers. Give an animal a clear opportunity to move away and accept a distant or brief view. If another vehicle has an angle you prefer, that is not a reason to demand the same position at the expense of wildlife or safety.
Keep human food and noise out of the encounter
Do not feed animals or attempt to attract them for a photograph. Keep bags and any permitted food secure, and take packaging back out with you. Ask about current food restrictions before bringing a meal. Sound, litter and objects left behind are not part of the habitat, even when an animal seems curious or a stop appears empty.
Choose the story you want to take home
A respectful sighting may be shorter and less dramatic than a staged-looking image, but it is an honest wildlife experience. Encourage children and other passengers to watch quietly and notice behaviour. Share photographs without presenting them as promises for future visitors. A private jeep reserves your transport arrangement, not control over animals, the park or other visitors.
